I didn't build MoralCompass from a textbook. I built it from a moment where doing the right thing cost me everything I'd worked for.
After years of service — as a U.S. Army veteran, a federal maritime professional, and an educator — I raised concerns about workplace safety violations and requested accommodations for a serious genetic lung condition. What followed wasn't support. It was exclusion, reassignment, and the premature end of a career I had planned to give my life to.
That experience didn't make me bitter. It made me clear-eyed. I realised that most ethical failures at work aren't caused by bad people — they're caused by good people who didn't have a framework for thinking it through. Who didn't know their rights. Who were isolated at the exact moment they needed structure and confidence.
